The church of Sourp Sarkis is located in the once-armenian town of *Digor*. Digor exists nowadays in the area of Ani, about 16 km to the Southwest, and this church is still there though mostly ruined.

The church was called “Voschkavanki yekeghetsi” or the church of Voshkou vank ( Voshk manastiri ) which was built towards the end of the 10th century just south of Tortoum in the Erzuroum province of Mayre Hayastan.
