Armen Garo (Karekin Pasdermadjian) and his family

Armen Garo (Karekin Pasdermadjian) and his family. Standing are his two brothers Vahan and Khachig.

In September 1909, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) allied themselves with the Committee of Union and Progress after the Adana massacres had already begun to expose its true nature (more than 30.000 Armenians fell victim to massacre in April 1909).

Karekin Garo Pastermadjian and Dagaverian were the two main leaders who made an agreement between the Dashnaktsutyun and the Committee of Union and Progress. They were naively of the opinion that is was in the interest of the Armenians to support the Young Turks in their so-called fight for freedom.
